Good times shared

We first met Margaret in the Tartan Bar at the Duke of Cornwall on her 40th birthday and have many happy memories of the times we spent together.

We shared many good times including weekends away, holidays and swimming which we did every week while we were in Plymouth, this was often followed by a trip out to the moors for a drink.  One night we had been out on Dartmoor and on the way home we were stopped by a policeman as a prisoner had escaped from Dartmoor Prison, Margaret was driving and John and Peter were in the back of the car.  We managed to convince the policeman that they were harmless and we had no prisoners in the car and he let us continue home.

Another time we went, along with Ed and Rose, to Crete.  We were in rooms on opposite sides of a courtyard (Ed and Rose, Peter and myself in one apartment and  Margaret and John opposite.  Anyway the men rigged up a pulley system to pass goodies across the void, that was in the days when Margaret would have a Mars bar every day.  Thank goodness nothing fell out of the basket.  We had plenty of laughs on that holiday.
Even when we moved to Trowbridge we still kept in touch and met up as often as we could for weekend stays and of course we always played cards at the end of the evening for just a few pennies but once again getting a lot of enjoyment from it.
